Ambassador Cornstein says US-Hungary relations are set for improvement
US ambassador said relations between the two countries “have not been how they should have” recently
The US ambassador to Hungary has said that relations between the two countries “have not been how they should have” recently.
David B. Cornstein told reporters in Debrecen that relations between the United States and Hungary have changed, during an event at the city’s Reformed Great Church on his first official visit outside the capital.
Ambassador Cornstein talked about the situation of Budapest’s Central European University, saying that CEU’s departure would be a “great loss” for Hungary.
The ambassador said he believed that settling the issue around CEU would help cement US-Hungary cooperation.
