The student body comprises of 1.2 million children in total, taking into account those attending elementary and secondary school. They will spend a total of 180 days studying.
The Autumn break will begin on October 25th, while the Winter break is set to start on December 20th. The Spring break kicks off on April 8th, 2020. Seniors will finish their studies on April 30th, 2020.
13 million books have been distributed among 4,091 educational institutions, a project cross-coordinated by the state and the Hungarian Post Office. Although 570,000 more volumes were sent out, the allocated expenses decreased significantly.
The majority of adolescents opted for specialist institutions providing practical, transferable skills, as opposed to traditional qualifications. 31,000 applied for courses teaching IT, economics, hospitality and tourism, while only 29,000 applied to traditional secondary schools.
Currently, waiters, patissiers, chefs and shop assistants are the most sought-after professions on the labor market.
