Budapest Airport continues to expand with extra flights to Canada

Aiport expansion plans are also in development. A new terminal building is to be constructed at Budapest's Ferenc Liszt International Airport and will be completed in 2018

Budapest Airport has announced that Air Canada rouge will increase its service between Budapest and Toronto Pearson, becoming a six times weekly service from June 21.

The latest news is part of Budapest Airport's expanding summer schedule, where several airlines have announced new routes and airport expansion plans are in the pipeline.

Air Canada rouge’s new connections will mean Budapest’s weekly Canadian capacity will increase by 20%, seeing an extra 7,300 seats to Canada during the summer season. The airline’s additional services throughout 2017 will give Air Canada rouge a 50 percent year-on-year capacity increase.

Aiport expansion plans are also in development. A new terminal building is to be constructed at Budapest's Ferenc Liszt International Airport and will be completed in 2018.

Terminal B's temporary 'tin hall' building will be demolished to make way for a new passenger pier, which will be a 220 meter addition to terminal 2B.

According to plans, the new area will increase the size and capacity of the airport, including new shops, 27 new gates and 10 new jet bridges.
