The Ludwig Museum of contemporary art has made it onto the list of the 100 most significant modern and contemporary art institutions in the world.
According to ludwigmuseum.blog.hu, the Budapest-based gallery has made it onto the coveted ArtFacts database, making it the first Eastern European museum of contemporary art to appear on the list compiled at artfacts.net.
According to the blog, Ludwig is both the only Hungarian institute and the only representative of the Eastern European region in the top 100.
Situated on the banks of the river Danube, Ludwig is mentioned in the same breath as the Albertina in Vienna, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, Tate Modern in London and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
