Condé Nast Traveler has placed Hungary as the third-best travel destination to visit during the winter period.

The globally renowned magazine has placed Budapest among Chile, China, the United States and French Polynesia as the top spots to explore this festive season.

In the article, titled “The Best Places to Go This Winter”, the author says, “almost thirty years after the fall of communism, Hungary’s capital has reclaimed its title as Paris of the East” and calls Budapest the “crown jewel of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.”

The article goes on to detail that many investments have been made in recent years, and modern and high-design projects have been carried out in Hungary’s capital, while the city still manages to keep the unique architectural pieces from the past, retaining its historical aesthetic.
