Coronavirus Update: 3,313 confirmed cases in Hungary

The confirmed number of COVID-19 cases in Hungary now stands at 3,313.

The number of confirmed people infected with the coronavirus in Hungary now stands at 3,313. In compulsory home quarantine: 11,016. Recovered: 1,007. Deceased: 425.

The results show that 60 percent of those infected, 79 percent of the deceased, and 56 percent of those recovered live in Budapest or Pest County. The total number of active COVID-19 cases is 1,881. There are currently 746 patients hospitalized with the coronavirus, 45 of those are on ventilators.

It’s still vital for everyone to maintain a distance of 1.5 meters and cover their face in shops and on public transport. It is recommended to stay at home and observe the rules and recommendations, especially elderly people, students, and those who have returned from abroad.

Chief Medical Officer Cecília Müller said yesterday that while there was a period when the number of coronavirus infections grew rapidly, this period was short due to effective measures taken against the spread of the disease. “The number of those who succumbed to the virus is, of course, a reason for sorrow. However, the figures place Hungary in the bottom third of Europe,” Müller said.
