Coronavirus Update: 3,473 confirmed cases in Hungary

The confirmed number of COVID-19 cases in Hungary now stands at 3,473.


The number of confirmed people infected with the coronavirus in Hungary now stands at 3,473. In compulsory home quarantine: 10,742. Recovered: 1,371. Deceased: 448.

The results show that 56 percent of those infected, 78 percent of the deceased, and 61 percent of those recovered live in Budapest or Pest County. The total number of active COVID-19 cases is 1,664.  

It’s still vital for everyone to maintain a distance of 1.5 meters and cover their face in shops and on public transport. It is recommended to stay at home and observe the rules and recommendations, especially elderly people, students, and those who have returned from abroad.

During yesterday's Operational Group press conference, Chief Medical Officer Cecília Müller said that as the epidemic situation improves, it will be soon possible to further expand regular healthcare services. The process of returning to normal healthcare services began on May 4, and occasional screenings will start on May 18.
