The confirmed number of COVID-19 cases in Hungary now stands at 3,678.

The number of confirmed people infected with the coronavirus in Hungary now stands at 3,678. In compulsory home quarantine: 11,668. Recovered: 1,587. Deceased: 476.

The total number of active COVID-19 cases is 1,615. The results show that 44 percent of those infected, 61 percent of the deceased, and 48 percent of those recovered live in Budapest or Pest County. There are currently 483 patients hospitalized with the coronavirus, 23 of those are on ventilators.

It’s still vital for everyone to maintain a distance of 1.5 meters and cover their face in shops and on public transport. It is recommended to stay at home and observe the rules and recommendations, especially elderly people, students, and those who have returned from abroad.

Gergely Gulyás, the Minister heading the Prime Minister’s Office, said yesterday that the measures taken to fight the coronavirus have been successful, but the situation is still very fragile, so it is important to follow the rules. “It can be considered a government credit, but quick action would mean nothing if people did not follow the measures,” he added.

“A proposal will be submitted next Tuesday, which begins the process of abolishing the special legal order [for the state of emergency],” the minister said. “However, the necessary measures will stay in force, for example the Operational Group will continue operating,” he added.
