The number of confirmed people infected with the coronavirus in Hungary now stands at 3,793. In compulsory home quarantine: 11,616. Recovered: 1,856. Deceased: 505.

The total number of active COVID-19 cases is 1,432. The results show that 41 percent of those infected, 60 percent of the deceased, and 49 percent of those recovered live in Budapest. There are currently 430 patients hospitalized with the coronavirus, 25 of those are on ventilators.

It’s still vital for everyone to maintain a distance of 1.5 meters and cover their face in shops and on public transport. It is recommended to stay at home and observe the rules and recommendations, especially elderly people, students, and those who have returned from abroad.

During yesterday's Operational Group press conference, Chief Medical Officer Cecília Müller reported that “the rate [of infection] has reversed, with more people recovering from coronavirus than becoming infected.” She added that “the virus must be eradicated from closed communities, where testing will continue in the second phase; currently, 33 institutes are affected by the epidemic, to varying degrees.”
