The number of confirmed people infected with the coronavirus in Hungary now stands at 3,841. In compulsory home quarantine: 10,763. Recovered: 2,024. Deceased: 517.

The total number of active COVID-19 cases is 1,300. The results show that 42 percent of those infected, 59 percent of the deceased, and 48 percent of those recovered live in Budapest. There are currently 384 patients hospitalized with the coronavirus, 24 of those are on ventilators.

It’s still vital for everyone to maintain a distance of 1.5 meters and cover their face in shops and on public transport. It is recommended to stay at home and observe the rules and recommendations, especially elderly people, students, and those who have returned from abroad.

At yesterday’s Operational Group press conference, Róbert Kiss, Lieutenant Colonel of the Hungarian Police Force, announced that a new phase of protection measures will enter into force in Budapest today. “This means, people can consume food and drink inside restaurants and hotels can reopen,” he said.

Outdoor sporting and cultural events can also be held, and outdoor exhibitions in national parks can be visited. “The safety distance must be kept everywhere,” he said. Kiss also drew attention to the fact that it is still forbidden to take part in or organize music or dance events in indoor venues.
