The number of confirmed people infected with the coronavirus in Hungary now stands at 3,867. In compulsory home quarantine: 11,408. Recovered: 2,142. Deceased: 524.
The total number of active COVID-19 cases is 1,201. The results show that 41 percent of those infected, 59 percent of the deceased, and 49 percent of those recovered live in Budapest. There are currently 414 patients hospitalized with the coronavirus, 22 of those are on ventilators.
It’s still vital for everyone to maintain a distance of 1.5 meters and cover their face in shops and on public transport. It is recommended to stay at home and observe the rules and recommendations, especially elderly people, students, and those who have returned from abroad.
During yesterday’s Operational Group press conference, State Secretary Sándor Bodó announced that the government will extend the job protection wage subsidy scheme until August 31.
Bodó noted that 10,500 companies have so far applied for job protection wage support, and the number of affected employees has reached 137,000. What’s more, 750 companies applied for R&D support, which will help 12,000 people working within these companies.
