The number of confirmed people infected with the coronavirus in Hungary now stands at 3,876. In compulsory home quarantine: 11,540. Recovered: 2,147. Deceased: 526.

The total number of active COVID-19 cases is 1,203. The results show that 41 percent of those infected, 59 percent of the deceased, and 48 percent of those recovered live in Budapest. There are currently 419 patients hospitalized with the coronavirus, 25 of those are on ventilators.

It’s still vital for everyone to maintain a distance of 1.5 meters and cover their face in shops and on public transport. It is recommended to stay at home and observe the rules and recommendations, especially elderly people, students, and those who have returned from abroad.

During yesterday’s Operational Group press conference, Colonel Tibor Lakatos said that easing the restrictions are necessary to return to normal everyday life, but it does not mean that the protection measures proposed by the government and recommended by experts should be forgotten. “Keeping to a safe social distance and wearing masks remain important. These steps could prevent a more serious second wave in the fall,” he said.
