In the coming days, there could be several hundred patients infected with the novel coronavirus in Hungary, Chief Medical Officer Cecília Müller stated.

Müller pointed out repeatedly that the elderly are especially at risk from the novel coronavirus, and therefore, primarily those over the age of 70 should stay at home. According to the World Health Organization’s recommendation, you should “maintain social distancing” – meaning you should keep an approximate distance of 2 meters between yourself and others. However, staying at home is the safest option.

The virus does not only infect the elderly, but it is typically symptom-free in younger generations, so they handle the disease relatively easily. At the same time, the elderly are vulnerable, and the progression of the disease in their case is much more serious.

Because the number of incidences of coronavirus is expected to increase significantly, the . Operational Group responsible for the containment of the infection has ordered a large number of tests; several laboratories are now working on these samples.
