Coronavirus Update: Confirmed number of cases rises to 895

Additional Hungarians have been found to be carrying the COVID-19 virus, raising the number of confirmed cases to 895. Meanwhile, the number of those recovered now stands at 94.

More Hungarian citizens have been diagnosed with COVID-19, bringing the confirmed number of cases in Hungary to 895.

We are in the period of cluster infections, when the virus spreads via social interaction. The disease can therefore be present anywhere.

It’s vital for everyone to stay home and observe the recommendations and movement restrictions, especially elderly people, students and those who have returned from abroad.

As seen from the data, coronavirus carries the highest risk for elderly people. Therefore, they should stay home and ask relatives or local authorities to help them shop for groceries and other necessities.

Chief Medical Officer Cecília Müller said yesterday that without the restrictions on movement, Budapest could become a focal point of the epidemic in Hungary. She therefore asked everyone to take notice of the rules and regulations put in place by the government.

The number of confirmed people infected with the coronavirus in Hungary now stands at 895. In compulsory home quarantine: 15,481. Recovered: 94. Deceased: 58.

Only together can we slow down the epidemic and flatten the curve.
