Coronavirus Update: Coronavirus has created a new threat for illegal migrants

The Greek-Turkish border has a shrinking number of migrants, but the Greek islands are still overcrowded and the coronavirus has now appeared there.

Hungary's Chief Security Advisor György Bakondi has said the coronavirus has created a new threat for illegal migrants.

Bakondi said that on the Balkan route, all states, including military forces, have closed their borders to protect the citizens of their country, particularly against the coronavirus.

The Greek-Turkish border has a shrinking number of migrants, but the Greek islands are still overcrowded and the coronavirus has now appeared there.

To date, more than 8,800 people have tried to enter Hungary illegally on the Serbian or Romanian border. And from today, another major military force will join the border guard.
