Coronavirus Update: Disruptions in international mail services; mailing of consignments suspended in some countries

From March 18, the posting of international consignments (International EMS, international priority and non-priority postal parcels, international priority and non-priority letters, MPL ES consignments) are subject to delays.

Worldwide postal services are slowing down due to the coronavirus epidemic. In several countries, restrictions have been introduced in air and road traffic which have also caused disruptions in the forwarding of postal consignments.

On March 17, the borders of Hungary were closed down to passenger traffic; the decision concerns both air and road traffic.

Due to the situation which has emerged, options have become limited. In some directions and countries, the forwarding of outgoing consignments has been disrupted or frustrated altogether, and from March 18 the posting of international consignments (International EMS, international priority and non-priority postal parcels, international priority and non-priority letters, MPL ES consignments) to the following countries has been temporarily suspended:

Slovakia

Slovenia

Ukraine

Czech Republic

Moldova

Latvia

Libya

Peru

Kuwait

Djibouti

Due to obstacles existing in international postal services, there is a slowing down even in relation to countries where services are still operational. This could also affect the delivery time of consignments.

Customers are thanked for their understanding and the patience they have shown so far.
