Chief Medical Officer Cecília Müller said the number of elderly care homes contending with COVID-19 has not increased.

Müller said 33 homes are infected, but patients and nurses are recovering and staff are able to return to work. Among the 5,991 caregivers working in 33 homes, 899 tested positive and 468 have recovered, she said.

Meanwhile, healthcare services for non-coronavirus patients are steadily expanding again as hospital wards closed in connection with the virus begin to reopen, she said.
