Coronavirus Update: Hungary “guarantees” that everyone will have “a decent job to support their family” once pandemic is over

State Secretary Katalin Novák said the Hungarian government “guarantees” that everyone will have “a decent job to support their family” once the pandemic is over.

According to MTI, Novák said that the government was working to create as many new jobs “as the virus destroys”.

The state secretary presented the Hungarian government’s job protection measures during a teleconference of welfare and labor ministers of the European Union. Participants discussed a strategic document drawn up by the European Commission concerning issues around demographic trends.

Novák said officials in Brussels “may have recognized at last” that Europe’s ageing population could pose the greatest challenge for the bloc in the next decades. Novák regretted, however, that the document “is lacking aspects of helping young people in having as many children as they wish”.
