Hungary’s Catholic Charity helped some 25,000 struggling families to overcome the consequences of the coronavirus epidemic over the past month.

According to MTI, the charity distributed 75 tons of food among the families and provided hot meals to them on a daily basis. It also provided digital tools to help the online learning of hundreds of children.

The charity donated medical equipment and hospital beds at several locations to assist in the home care of sick elderly people, and supplied disinfectants, face masks, protective gloves and immune boosting products to 26 social and healthcare institutions across the country.

Its volunteers helped families and elderly people with buying their drugs, paying their bills and doing their shopping, as well as keeping them company over the phone.
