The government aims to double the share of Hungarian defense industry suppliers and see more businesses certified as NATO suppliers.

Defense Minister Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky said Hungary’s military power must be effective and the defense industry competitive because in addition to guaranteeing the country’s security, it also serves economic growth. The minister told a conference about the government’s defense supplier development program. The government aims to double the share of Hungarian defense industry suppliers and see more businesses certified as NATO suppliers. The grant program will be coordinated by N7 Holding National Defense Industry Innovation Company, he added. He noted that Hungary had signed strategic agreements on defense industry development with a number of big foreign-owned companies, including Rheinmetall, Dynamit Nobel Defense, Airbus Helicopters and Nurol Makina.
