Five Hungarian healthcare businesses receive government support

Further contracts are planned to be signed under the scheme, and the aim is to allocate a total of HUF 50 billion through tenders.

The finance minister said Hungary is becoming increasingly self-sufficient in the areas of ventilators and disinfectants, thanks to contracts signed with five Hungarian healthcare businesses that are carrying out related investments totalling HUF 9 billion (EUR 26m).

Finance Minister Mihály Varga said the investments will be carried out under the arrangements of the government’s healthcare support scheme launched to ensure that supplies are available from domestic as well as foreign sources.

“Hopefully these developments will make us stronger, not only now but also in the face of future challenges,” Minister Varga said. Further contracts are planned to be signed under the scheme, and the aim is to allocate a total of HUF 50 billion through tenders.
