FM: France and Luxembourg still want illegal immigrants to be mandatorily distributed among EU member states

The foreign minister said it should be the duty of European leaders to restore security to the European people

Foreign ministers from France and Luxembourg still want illegal immigrants to be mandatorily distributed among member states of the European Union, according to Hungary’s foreign minister.

Péter Szijjártó, minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, said this would represent a huge danger and a further increase in the threat of terrorism. The minister added that it should be the duty of European leaders to restore security to the European people.

“This first and foremost requires that we should be able to protect Europe’s borders on both land and sea. The Hungarian government has done the former, and the Italian government is now attempting to do the latter, and this is why Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and Italian Interior Minister Matteo Salvini have formed an alliance,” he said.

Minister Szijjártó also drew the French Foreign Minister’s attention to the fact that Hungary has never been and is still not a French colony, and accordingly asked him to “in future refrain from the colonial tone he has used with relation to Hungary in recent days”.
