FM: Hungary and Poland will continue to fight Brussels' migration policies

The foreign minister said the attacks from Brussels have no basis in reality, are politically motivated and triggered by the two countries' refusal to become migrant hosts

The foreign minister has said that Hungary and Poland are standing up for their national interests, have a straightforward and honest attitude in international affairs and continue to defend Christian heritage.

Péter Stíjjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, made the remarks during a joint press conference with his Polish counterpart, Jacek Czaputowicz in Budapest.

The minister said the attacks from Brussels have no basis in reality, are politically motivated and triggered by the two countries' refusal to become migrant hosts. Both countries are opposed to the European Union's migration policies, he added.

Minister Szíjjártó added that the two countries had been the first to make it clear that they will not sign the UN Migration Compact and will continue to resist any attempt to "force it down nations' throats”.
