FM: Poland has Hungary's full support

Ministers held an overnight meeting and discussed EU procedures against Hungary and Poland, and migration challenges. The ministers mutually assured each other of their country's support

The foreign minister has declared that Poland has Hungary's full support.

Péter Szijjártó, minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, met Polish Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz prior to the meeting of EU foreign ministers in Luxembourg.

The parties held an overnight meeting and discussed EU procedures against Hungary and Poland, and migration challenges. The ministers mutually assured each other of their country's support.

The ministers also agreed that the steps against their countries are purely politically based, and the measures of both countries, Hungary and Poland, are fully in harmony with the law of the European Union.

“The reason for the politically-based attacks is clearly the migration policies of the two countries, but neither Hungary nor Poland will accept illegal immigrants; and both countries reject any kind of resettlement program," Minister Szijjártó stated.
