Foreign Minister reiterates Hungary’s stance that Israel had the right to self-defense

The foreign minister said on Facebook that the international community had a vested interest in avoiding terror attacks like the one Israel had suffered.

Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, spoke with Ron Dermer, Israel’s Minister of Strategic Affairs, by phone on Monday.

According to MTI, the pair discussed the situation in the Middle East, and Minister Szijjártó reiterated Hungary’s stance that Israel had the right to self-defense. The Hungarian minister said on Facebook that the international community had a vested interest in avoiding terror attacks like the one Israel had suffered. Dermer confirmed media reports that the body of a hostage, a Hungarian-Israeli dual citizen, had been found, Minister Szijjártó said. The ministers again reinforced their commitment to freeing the other Hungarian-Israeli hostage still held by Hamas, he said.
