Holocaust denier Horst Mahler has been arrested in Hungary after illegally leaving Germany, according to several reports today.
The 81-year-old was sentenced to 10 years in prison for inciting hate and denying the Holocaust in 2009. In 2015, he was released early due to bad health and was put on probation. He failed to attend a hearing at Brandenburg an der Havel prison last month and was put under an arrest warrant.
On Monday afternoon, Hungarian police confirmed that Mahler has been detained in Sopron and would most likely be returned to Germany.
