House of Houdini museum proves a Christmas hit with tourists

The House of Houdini has exhibited Houdini’s personal instruments including his handcuffs, straitjackets and books

The House of Houdini Museum, housed in the Buda Castle district, is proving a hit with both locals and tourists alike this Christmas.

Located in the beautiful First District of Budapest, the House of Houdini has exhibited Houdini’s personal instruments including his handcuffs, straitjackets and books.

The Budapest-born illusionist is known to the world as the greatest-ever escape artist, as well as one of the leading performers of the modern age.

Hungarian escape artist David Merlini, who created the museum, said that the exhibition also shows props from a feature-length film that was made about Houdini in Hungary two years ago.

The museum also offers magician’s shows and interactive programs to visitors and a stage to young magicians to try their skills.
