Hundreds of migrants that recently set off from Serbia have reached Hungary's southern border in Tompa.

According to M1 television, there are about 400-500 migrants gathered at the border with more on the way, and the crowd is growing “more and more determined”.

The M1 correspondent said the crowd wanted to cross the border peacefully before moving on towards inner Europe. The migrant group of mainly single men had been organized in closed social media groups.

According to MTI, the on-air correspondent said migrant marches always start out peaceful, “but then we see how things escalate.”

M1’s live broadcast showed migrants marching in small groups with their personal belongings and also with children among them. One of the migrants told the channel that they were heading for western Europe.
