Hungarian Ambassador to US has such good relations with Trump administration that other embassies turn to her for advice

Réka Szemerkényi has met with President Trump three times since his election victory in November and the pair have an enviable relationship

The Hungarian Ambassador to the United States has said she has such a good relationship with the new administration that other embassies are turning to her for contacts and advice.

Figyelő reports that Réka Szemerkényi has developed a strong relationship with President Trump and his team, and has already met with him three times since his election victory in November.

Ambassador Szemerkényi told the newspaper that she had met “half” of the US government already, including Attorney General Jeff Sessions, Vice President Mike Pence, Wilbur Ross, and Rex Tillerson.

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán also has a good relationship with the new president. He became one of the first leaders to congratulate Donald Trump on winning the presidency back in November, and sources say that Trump was particularly taken with the support the prime minister has shown him over time.

Sources also state that there are plans in motion for the prime minister to visit Washington on an official state visit and for discussions to take place between PM Orbán and Trump on the sidelines of the NATO summit in May.
