Hungary helps Hurricane Harvey relief efforts

Three Hungarians joined the North Carolina Rescue24 team to set up a complex humanitarian base. The base will provide 40,000 meals for flood victims and is equipped to offer bathroom and laundry facilities

The Hungarian Baptist Charity has sent aid workers to Nederland in Texas to help those affected by hurricane Harvey.

According to MTI, three Hungarians joined the North Carolina Rescue24 team to set up a complex humanitarian base.

The base will provide 40,000 meals for flood victims and is equipped to offer bathroom and laundry facilities without relying on local infrastructure.

Hurricane Harvey has so far caused 50 confirmed deaths and major floods in Houston, and wider afield in Texas.

Hungarian aid workers from the Baptist charity have cooperated in relief efforts after US-based hurricanes on four previous occasions since 2005.
