According to napi.hu, Budapest residents can rent an apartment for half the price of the same sized property in Vienna or Frankfurt.

The average cost per square meter in Budapest is similar to prices in Berlin and Istanbul, 11 EUR. In the most expensive cities, London and Paris, the average cost is 39 to 45 EUR per m2.

In Budapest, 650 EUR per month will rent an apartment of 90m2 in districts XIV, XVI and XX. For the same price, an apartment of 75 m2 can be rented in the center of Budapest, in districts VI, VII, VIII, or IX.

In Vienna, for 650 EUR per month a 47.6 m2 flat can be rented, while in Amsterdam only a 30 m2 flat can be found. In London or Paris, only a single room can be rented for the same price.
