Hungary pick up first medal at FINA World Championships

Hungary picked up its first medal of the FINA World Championships in Budapest over the weekend when the men took the bronze medal in the 4x100m freestyle relay event.

Katinka Hosszú swam the fastest time in the semi-finals of the women’s 200 IM, it was her quickest time of 2017 in 2:07.14.

Hungary is favored to win several of the swimming events taking place this week. Three-time Olympic champion Katinka Hosszú will compete in the 50m, 100m and 200m backstroke, 200m and 400m IM, and the freestyle disciplines.

In the men's swimming events, Dániel Gyurta and László Cseh are hoping to bring home gold medals in the breaststroke and butterfly disciplines, respectively.
