Hungary sends humanitarian aid to Ukraine

Aid worth 32 million HUF was sent to Transcarpathia and regions further to the east in Ukraine on Wednesday

Hungary has sent 56 tons of humanitarian aid to the Ukraine, it has been reported.

Aid worth 32 million HUF was sent to Transcarpathia and regions further to the east in Ukraine on Wednesday.

The Transcarpathia consignment contained food, school supplies, clothing and kitchenware. The aid to the other regions comprised of hospital beds, medical equipment and vaccines, Miklós Soltész, secretary of state for Churches, Minorities and Civil Affairs said.

The consignment was put together by the Catholic, Maltese, Reformed and Baptist charities with contributions by the aid organizations of the Johannite and Saint Lucas and Unified Hungarian Jewish Congregation communities.

The minister also noted that several other consignments have been sent by Hungary to Ukraine this year.

Ukrainian Ambassador Liubov Nepop thanked the Hungarian government, the charities and the Hungarian people.
