Hungary to host World Hunting Expo in 2021

Hungary has already completed the concept for hosting the expo and International Spokesman Zoltán Kovács has been appointed government commissioner of the event

Hungary is to host the 2021 World Hunting Expo, it has been announced.

Organizers expect one million visitors to attend the event, which is to be held in Budapest and celebrated in other locations around the country.

According to Rmx.news, Hungary has already completed the concept for hosting the expo and International Spokesman Zoltán Kovács has been appointed government commissioner of the event.

The year 2021 is also the 50th anniversary of Budapest hosting the Expo 1971, a hunting-themed expo with the participation of 52 countries which at the time attracted 1.9 million visitors.

That expo was also notable - taking place only three years after the Soviets invaded Czechoslovakia - because it was attended by both Soviet Secretary General Leonid Brezhnev and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

The Hungarian budget will provide HUF 7 billion for the initial preparations while the final budget must be submitted to the cabinet in the first half of the year.
