Hungary’s famous Parliament building had a record-breaking number of visitors in 2017, it has been revealed.
A staggering 647,000 people visited the Hungarian Parliament in 2017, which is 11 percent more than in 2016.
Official figures show that 20.5 percent of the visitors were Hungarian, 79.5 percent were foreigners, while 30.6 percent of those came from outside of the European Union.
However, the number is set to be much higher this year as more than 201,000 people have already visited the Parliament in the first quarter of 2018, which is 18 percent more than in the first four months of 2017.
According to MTI, tourists generated a revenue of 1,188,000,000 HUF by visiting the most popular tourist attraction in Budapest last year.
