Hungary's health authority issues heat alert for weekend

On Friday and Saturday afternoon the highest temperatures are expected to hit 37 C. The ministry warned people to stay away from the sun and avoid intense physical activity

Hungary's health authority has issued a heat alert for the rising temperatures over the weekend.

According to MTI, the human resources ministry’s public health secretariat has issued first and second-level heat alerts for the entirety of Hungary and warned of high daytime temperatures through Sunday evening.

Average temperatures on Friday, Saturday and Sunday are set to exceed 25-27 C, especially in northwest and southeast Hungary.
