Hungary's hottest dawn recorded at 25.1 C

Temperatures could reach 36 C. throughout the rest of this week

The hottest dawn ever recorded in Hungary was picked up by the national weather service on Tuesday, it has been announced.

According to offical figures, readings hit 25.1 C. near the city of Pécs, in southern Hungary. Before the current high, the hottest dawn temperature was picked up in Pannonhalma in 1968 at 23 C., which was equalled in Budapest in 2012.

Experts have warned that temperatures could reach 36 C. throughout this week and for people to take appropriate precautions in the heat.
