Hungary's tourism industry is booming following a successful year of overseas visitors to the country.
According to Forbes.hu, Brits, Italians, Americans and Germans visited Hungary the most this year, with Budapest being the more popular destination.
Official figures show that guests spent a record number of nights in Hungary in the first quarter of 2019. The country had over one million foreign visitors.
In the period between January and April 2019, the number of nights spent in commercial accommodations in Budapest approached three million, which is a record.
The Central Statistical Office (KSH) found that April was the most successful month for Hungarian tourism: accommodations were working with 86.3 percent capacity.
Most visitors came to Budapest from the United Kingdom, Italy and Germany. The United States came in fourth place.
