Katinka Hosszú wins gold at FINA Swimming World Cup in Singapore

Katinka Hosszú has bagged a gold medal at the FINA Swimming World Cup in Singapore.

Zsuzsanna Jakabos and Szebasztián Szabó also secured silver medals at the opening night of the competition.

Three-time Olympic gold medalist, Hosszú finished the 200m butterfly in a super-fast time of 2:07:7, closely followed by Jakabos, who came in second with 2:07:48. In the mens’ event, Szebasztián finished the 100m butterfly in second place with 51.28.

The FINA Swimming World Cup comprises a series of two-day competitions held across the world. This year, events have already been held in Tokyo, Jinan and Singapore. The swimmers will meet again in Budapest and Berlin in the fall of this year.
