Hungary’s Liszt Ferenc International Airport is fast becoming one of the busiest airports in Europe.

According to official figures, passenger numbers are expected to exceed 13 million this year, up from 12.5 million in 2016, MTI reports.

Kam Jandu, the chief commercial officer of Budapest Airport, said 44 airlines operate flights from Liszt Ferenc to 131 destinations. So far this year, passenger numbers on flights to London, the most popular destination, have been up by 1.5 percent at 1.1 million.

What’s more, passenger numbers on flights to Paris and Brussels have increased by 7.5 percent and 13.8 percent, respectively. Passenger numbers on Berlin flights have risen by 54.4 percent.
