MEP Tamás Deutsch said the European left wing, which “raced to see who could devise lies faster to shame Hungary and the Hungarian government” in the spring, now acknowledge positively the country’s epidemic defense.
Speaking on public radio on Sunday, Deutsch said the Hungarian left wing still “remains in the state of mind they were in the spring”. He said MEPs of governing Fidesz-KDNP had discussed attacks by the Hungarian and European left wing at a meeting with Prime Minister Viktor Orbán last week.
The talks also touched on fighting the epidemic, migration pressure, the distribution of European Union funding and Fidesz’s future in the European People’s Party (EPP).
