Natural gas prices in Budapest are the lowest out of any city in the European Union.
The Hungarian Energy & Utilities Regulatory Agency revealed that the average price came to EUR 3.16 per kilowatt, marking a new record across the 28 European member states.
In sharp contrast to the EUR 3.16 measured in Budapest, Stockholm reported an eight-times higher price with EUR 25.28. In Bratislava, the price of gas was about twice the amount measured in Budapest, while in Vienna, it was two-and-a-half times more.
The agency also revealed that the price of electricity is on the decline as well.
Budapest-inhabitants paid just EUR 11.59 for electricity within the same period, the third-lowest price after Sofia and Belgrade, while the highest prices were measured in Berlin and Copenhagen.
