György Matolcsy, the governor of the National Bank of Hungary (NBH), met David Pressmann, the US ambassador to Hungary, on Tuesday to discuss economic, trade and cultural ties between the two countries. An NBH statement said the two countries are cooperating in a number of sectors, especially in security, economy, energy and law enforcement. Matolcsy and Pressmann also discussed the economic situation of their countries and opportunities in financial cooperation and other sectors. Matolcsy noted that strong bilateral ties are crucial “amid the current economic and geopolitical uncertainties”, and they agreed that strengthening ties and maintaining dialogue is necessary.
