"Pakistani butcher" who killed 70 people arrested in Hungary

A hitman, nicknamed the "Pakistani butcher", wanted by police for assassinating 70 people was arrested in Hungary on Tuesday

A Pakistani hitman wanted by police for assassinating 70 people was arrested in Hungary on Tuesday, it has been revealed.

The 35 year-old man, nicknamed the "Pakistani butcher", was apprehended following a joint operation between Hungarian and Austrian authorities.

The assassin has been on the run for several months and is currenlty on the top of Pakistan's most wanted criminals list.

According to MTI, Austrian police received information suggesting that he was planning to travel to Austria through Hungary with the help of human smugglers.

Austrian authorities informed their Hungarian colleagues who stopped a group of 42 illegal migrants, including the wanted criminal, in a woodland area near the village of Bóly in southern Hungary.

The Pakistani man was arrested under an international Interpol warrant. A decision on his extradition will be made in the next few days.
