PM Orbán discusses Bulgarian LNG transit tariffs with Borisov

Borisov told PM Orbán there had been an inter-party agreement on “complying with Hungary’s determined request and abolishing the punitive tariff on gas transit, which poses a serious threat to Hungary’s energy security”.

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán held talks with former Bulgarian prime minister Boyko Borisov over the phone on Tuesday and discussed Bulgarian transit fees on LNG. Borisov told PM Orbán there had been an inter-party agreement on “complying with Hungary’s determined request and abolishing the punitive tariff on gas transit, which poses a serious threat to Hungary’s energy security”. PM Orbán and Borisov also discussed Bulgaria’s accession to the Schengen Area. Bulgaria has fulfilled all conditions to the move, which is of primary importance to the country, Havasi cited Borisov as saying.
