PM Orbán expresses his regret over fire at Ráday Dormitory Budapest after person dies

In a letter to Bishop István Szabó, the prime minister offered help to the Reformed Church to restore the damaged building

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has expressed his regrets over Wednesday night’s fire in which the upper floors of the Ráday Dormitory in central Budapest burnt down and a person died.

In a letter to Bishop István Szabó, the prime minister offered help to the Reformed Church to restore the damaged building.

According to MTI, the dorm, home to 130 students, was only partially occupied at the time of the fire, because many of the students were away preparing for their upcoming exams.

The church said all other students have been temporarily rehoused by the district municipality and the Lutheran Church.
