PM Orbán: 'Hungary’s future is being written not only in Budapest but throughout the country'

The prime minister said the completion of investment-development projects each week demonstrate that it is worth working in Hungary

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has said Hungary is prospering and the future is bright for the entire country.

“Hungary’s future is being written not only in Budapest but in all parts of the country,” the prime minister said.

The prime minister made the remarks at the opening of a new logistics hub in Nyíregyháza, in the north-east of Hungary, on Wednesday.

“This is clear proof that things in Hungary are starting to pick up,” the prime minister said. He called the investment by Révész-Nyirlog “a success story”, and proved that the country is gradually standing on its own two feet.

The prime minister said the completion of investment-development projects each week demonstrate that it is worth working in Hungary.

Road haulage firm Révész-Nyirlog, part of the Révész Group, received 594 million HUF in funding and various tax-breaks for their development project. PM Orbán congratulated the Hungarian-owned family business for the 9 billion HUF (28.9m EUR) investment project carried out over 10 months.

The 52,000sqm logistics center includes warehouses, an office building and service areas. The company has also been able to create 85 new jobs due to the expansion. Révész Group expanded its available storage space to 260,000sqm with the investment.

PM Orbán also noted that a large part of the Hungarian economy is made up of foreign-owned companies, but the companies “closest to the heart” are Hungarian.
