PM Orbán meets with Bishop Tikhon to discuss Christian values

Bishop Tikhon thanked PM Orbán for supporting Christian values in Hungary and also discussed the recent aid the state had given to charitable causes

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán met with Bishop Tikhon, Administrator of the Hungarian Orthodox Diocese, in the Parliament Building on Tuesday, it has been announced. 

According to government insiders, Bishop Tikhon thanked PM Orbán for supporting Christian values in Hungary and also discussed the recent aid the state had given to charitable causes.

In March 2017 representatives of the Hungarian state and the Orthodox Church signed an agreement on work on Orthodox churches in Hungary worth 2.4 billion HUF, which helped the refurbishment of three and the construction of one.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and KDNP leader Zsolt Semjén.
