PM Orbán: Hungary to offer further assistance to persecuted Christians in the Middle East

Hungary will provide financial support for the reconstruction of a school destroyed in Syrian battles, and will offer scholarship opportunities in Hungary for students from Christian communities

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán held talks with Jean-Clément Jeanbart, Archbishop of the Melkite Greek Catholic Archeparchy of Aleppo on Hungary’s provision of further assistance to persecuted Christians in the Middle East.

The talks were held in the Parliament building on Wednesday as part of a working lunch also attended by Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjén and Zoltán Balog, minister of Human Capacities.

The prime minister said that Hungary will provide financial support for the reconstruction of a school destroyed in Syrian battles, and will offer scholarship opportunities in Hungary for students from Christian communities.
