Prime Minister Viktor Orbán officially opened a new pasta production plant for Balogh Tészta Zrt. in Tiszakécske on Thursday.

The prime minister said that the Hungarian government particularly values enterprises that manage to link agricultural know-how to industrial know-how, and the pasta brand is one such enterprise.

PM Orbán said that Hungarians are the best people equipped to cultivate agriculture to high international standards, it's in their genes, he said.

The prime minister added that the new pasta production plant for Balogh Tészta Zrt. is also important because the company is a family run business.

The sheer volume of the plant’s output makes it a significant factor in the Hungarian national economy, he said, and this is also of significance for the gross domestic product.

The prime minister added that Hungarians feel most confident when they know that the food they have chosen is the product of the Hungarian soil and the work of other Hungarians.

PM Orbán also talked about how the Hungarian economy and job market is booming. He said that there are hardly any unemployed people in the country, and those who want to work can find jobs.

The construction of the new plant began in July 2015. The project cost 2.7 billion HUF, of which 1.6 billion HUF came from bank loans, and 500 million HUF from EU funds.
